Everything to Know About The Citation Sovereign

Fleet

One of the latest additions to the Schubach Aviation fleet, the Citation Sovereign, is a high-performing and versatile jet that is a great choice for a variety of business and leisure travel missions. Praised for its exceptional utility, it possesses many of the favored features of a large cabin aircraft, combined with the performance and economical advantages of a midsized jet.

Background

Developed by Cessna, the world’s leading general aviation manufacturer, the super mid-sized Sovereign was introduced as a larger cabin and longer, transcontinental range alternative to the Citation Excel. The aircraft made its maiden flight in February 2002 and was awarded FAA certification in 2004.

Capability

Powered by two powerful Pratt & Whitney PW306C engines, the Sovereign features a stretched fuselage and larger 515 square-foot wings, allowing it to fly farther, faster. It was the first business jet to employ a variable gearing mechanism, which adjusts the jet’s flaps for optimal performance during flight. And the aircraft’s moderately swept high aspect ratio wing enables excellent short-field performance and long-range flight efficiency.

Performance

The Sovereign’s impressive range is well-suited for non-stop coast-to-coast travel, while its renowned high-altitude performance and short-runway capability is well adapted for challenging, mountain terrain synonymous with destinations like Aspen, Jackson Hole and Bozeman.

Cabin

The aircraft’s spacious, elongated cabin is well-appointed for extended, transcontinental travels, comfortably seating up to nine passengers. And the Sovereign’s industry-leading 135 cubic foot baggage capacity is ideal for longer journeys, featuring 35 cubic feet in-cabin for easy reach and 100 cubic feet in an external heated compartment.
