Charitable giving is a part of Schubach Aviation’s DNA, so it’s only fitting that we celebrated our milestone 30-year anniversary in 2022 with the launch of a new philanthropic initiative, Miles that Matter. Inspired by retired founder Henry Schubach’s legacy of giving back in San Diego, the program encompasses the company’s year-long non-profit contributions, donations, and events. Plus, the annual donation-per-mile campaign, which contributes one-cent for each mile flown on Schubach Aviation’s annual private charter flights to a San Diego-based non-profit.
For Miles that Matter inaugural year, we’re pleased to partner with Monarch School, Shelter to Soldier, and Curbound. All are past donation-per-mile recipients making a positive impact in San Diego communities and beyond.

Shelter to Soldier is a 501c3 nonprofit organization that adopts dogs from local shelters and rescue organizations and trains them to become psychiatric service dogs for post-9/11 veterans suffering from Post Traumatic Stress (PTS), Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI) and/or Military Sexual Trauma (MST). The program also places emotional support animals (ESAs) with active duty military and veterans, and deploys the Shelter to Soldier Canine Ambassadors, a team of therapy dogs and their volunteer handlers, to provide visits of love and comfort to local military, veterans and their families.
