KIMBERLY HERRELL
OWNER, CHIEF EXECUTIVE OFFICER

Owner and CEO Kimberly Herrell is a 19-year aviation industry veteran. She drives the company’s overall vision with the same determination and commitment to excellence that has defined the first-in-class jet charter operator’s success for a milestone 30 years.

A graduate of Utah Valley University, Kim first made her mark in luxury hospitality prior to applying the invaluable experience to the private aviation industry. She joined Schubach Aviation in 2005, was appointed to President in 2018 by retired company namesake and founder Henry Schubach, and acquired the business in January 2020. As CEO, Kim drives Schubach Aviation’s overall vision and corporate values. She oversees marketing, sales, and business development initiatives with a strategic focus on future growth, maintaining a values-driven company culture, and delivering immersive aviation experiences for clients interested in customizable adventures. In 2018, Kim launched Schubach Aviation’s successful Elevated Excursions program, followed in 2020 by the company’s VIP ACCESS program, a curated collection of one-of-a-kind travel opportunities developed exclusively with the company’s world-class partners that has been featured in Forbes Lifestyle, Robb Report, and CNN Travel. In 2023, she established a partnership with Waverly restaurant to debut a Schubach Aviation-exclusive elevated in-flight dine and drink menu by Michelin-recognized Executive Chef Brian Redzikowski.

Kim champions Schubach Aviation’s enduring commitment to philanthropy and in 2022 introduced a new philanthropic initiative, Miles that Matter. It encompasses the company’s annual philanthropic contributions, donations, and events and will benefit San Diego-based Monarch School, Shelter to Soldier, the Museum of Contemporary Art San Diego and Curebound.

Kim was recently named one of San Diego Magazine’s 2023 “Women of the Year,” has been honored by Visit CA as a “California Woman Making [Her] Mark,” in addition to being recognized as one of San Diego’s 500 most influential business leaders by the San Diego Business Journal. In 2022, she joined the Board of Directors of the National Air Transportation Association (NATA), the leading national trade association representing nearly 2,300 aviation businesses.
