Selling Quality of Life

Selling Quality of Life

A few months ago I attended the NBAA Annual Leadership Conference. It was exciting to be surrounded by some of the top leaders in our industry, to converse with them and to learn form their vast and varied experience.

The keynote Speaker was a San Diego local that has personally utilized our services here at Schubach Aviation. In speaking to us aviation professionals he surmised that what we really provide is not just a mode of transportation but quality of life. Less time spent in lines, on layovers, delays, and indirect routing and more time to spend with your loved ones, being productive, or doing the things you enjoy. If your destination is in a rural location, flying private can typically get you to a much closer airport than taking the airlines, saving on sometimes hours of driving time. Not to mention that in today’s world, commercial airports can mean a somewhat stressful environment.

From a business standpoint you can visit more cities in one day and fly the direct route ideal for your schedule avoiding overnights and excess travel time. This also equals more quality time spent in the office.

It was fantastic to hear directly from a client what the value of our service means to him. While I’ve always understood the intangible worth we provide in terms of time saving, overall quality of life is admittedly not something I had given much thought. In our work-driven, western society, I think we sometimes don’t realize that it’s perfectly acceptable to want and to work for quality of life. Otherwise, what’s the point of all that hard work?
